MID OHIO
Reprinted from "Crown Jewels of the Wire", April 2004, page 39

The Mid-Ohio insulator show held every fall always ranks as one of the top events of the year for insulator collectors. Last fall's 33rd annual show in Springfield was no exception. Kevin Jacobson of Arizona attended and sent in the pictures published on this and the following page. Shown at the top left is a CD 718 threadless in cornflower blue. The insulator on the right is a CD 136.4 in a wonderful shade of green.

Hosted by Steve Blair and Glenn Drummond, the Mid-Ohio show draws in eye-popping insulators, lightning rod balls, go-withs and other collectibles. Steve is pictured at the right, with painted Viking horns. He's a member of !he Viking Warriors, an informal club which meets at the show. Below are three CD 143 Canadian beehives in great colors.

A display of kerosene lamps made by Hemingray were among the show's colorful and excellent exhibits.

A dealer's sales stock of lightning rod balls brightens up the show floor.

Co-host Glenn Drummond hands out an award to exhibitor Brian Riecker.

Below: Here are just three of a much larger collection of Boston Bottle Works insulators that were at the show. Check out the CD 158.9...a "screw top" that's also a leaner!
